The size of the billiard room is perhaps the most important compared to the size of the other rooms. It's all about the ratio of the size of the table and the corresponding minimum size and configuration of the room.
Billiard tables are measured in feet and traditionally range from 7 to 9 feet for a pool, from 8 to 12 feet for Russian billiards, that is, from 2.13 by 1.07 meters to 3.66 by 1.83 meters.
The minimum size of the billiard room is calculated based on the size of the selected table plus the length of the cue (on each side of the table) plus 10-15 cm for span (also on each side of the table). Considering that the standard cue length is 150-160 cm, it turns out that the minimum size of a room under the smallest table is 5.33 by 4.27 meters, that is, about 22 square meters. However, for the room billiard room is important not so much its area as the parameters of length and width.
If the dimensions of the house do not allow to place the billiard room of the desired size, you can compromise by using a shorter cue for hitting the balls near the sides.
For a comfortable game and a pleasant rest, the dimensions of the billiard room should allow to accommodate a sofa, armchairs, a bar, a table for drinks and, of course, a hive. In addition, players should be able to move freely around the room, assessing the location of the balls on the playing field.
